I've bounced this thing so many times it's not funny.

Truth be told, sadly it's 90% highway bound, as my kids live about an hr away... Where we go 4wding is a bit of mud, sand and shaley rock. I'm starting to lean towards BFG allies in 245/75.
As an aside, since lifting the Disco and putting an ARB bar on I am getting about 100km less per tank.... everything else is the same. Stock tyres, 2" OME lift, well serviced and filters are new. The only other change is not using Caltex vortex. Could that make such a big difference???

Yes it could easily drop 100km from a tank.
Had that before...
Drop 100km a tank from the lift or using different fuels?
I didn't think a lift alone would do that. I've only changed the suspension and the bar from factory to ARB winch bar. I know bigger tyres will affect it. Anyway, I suppose there is no need to hold back now! Just the economy was an awesome part of the vehicle :)
I can't imagine a lift and front bar would drain an extra 13 odd litres of diesel.
Aerodynamics, you create more drag you use more fuel.
Aerodynamics and extra weight and change in diesel quality easily add upto that difference in consumption.
