sorry to bring back this post.

Was just putting back all the linkages for the transfer case and was wondering if the oring pictured needs to be further in or if it even lives there. As you can see from other pics that ring clamp that fits onto the splines doesn't sit flush against the housing. From pics i took before it seems its not flush either but doesn't seem as if it sits out so much.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Val, looking at your pic, suggestion whilst you have access is to remove the diff lock assembly from the top of the gear box and pull it apart, give it all a degrease and clean. There looks like a bit of crud in there. Old grease, dust, dirt.
You'll appreciate it more after it's properly cleaned and greased on how easy the diff lever engages and shifts
    Cheers,
    Mario

    Thank Mario,

    I will do that.

Could you also tell me, is that oring supposed to be there?

    Thanks,

    Val

PS your shop is great, I've purchased a few things through you and has always been very easy and pleasant.
