    Discovery 1 2" suspension lift

    Hi guys

Bought a 200 tdi discovery about a month ago now, looking at getting a 2 inch lift kit. I've found one on eBay that seems reasonable priced, just want some people's opinions.

    The link is below

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...429415&alt=web

    Cheers

    Hi Skittle.
    My two bobs worth:
Note that it is a "MEDIUM DUTY" kit.
Does that mean... don't really go off road with it? (Ask them.)
My experience in life is that what you pay is what you get...
It is coming out of the UK, but where is it made? (China?)
    Ask them.

    Good luck with it.
    Jeff

Check out 4wdsupacentre.com.au -they had some disco kits a couple of months ago, and at least they're in Australia if there's problems.

Also with this being a medium duty think what else you've got planned for the car. Bull bar? Roof cage? Rooftop tent ? Lights? Every little bit of weight adds up in the end.

I'm running 30mm tough dog MEDIUM Duty which are really nice and I'm quite happy with them.

    my 2 cents

i think medium duty just means slightly softer spring. good compromise between comfort and load bearing and handling. most the kits ive seen say medium duty is for 4wd which have winch and few accessories and cargo up to 150-200kgs on and off. the medium duty doesnt refer so much to how much they can withstand offraod but more to the stiffness of the springs.

i may be wrong but all the kits ive looked at have said this on the specs.

it's a good price but ive seen mixed reviews for terrafirma. i was looking at buying some but now after the reviews id rather spend a bit more and get a brand which people praise. like OME, Billstein, Tough Dog. for now my suspension is ok. i think it's a fairly stiff one though. maybe bit sagged.

Hi ive literally just fitted the same lift kit to my D1 last night. Although mine was the light load. I have a bull bar on the front and doesnt egfect the ride height at all. I would definitely recommend them, the medium ones are probably even better. Plus they do look good when on the car. And for the price i dont think you can ho wrong.

    Thanks for the replies guys!
Don't plan on doing doing big 4wding just want to get access to most camp sites, and I have a bullbar, spotties, roof basket and looking at getting a rooftop tent. So I'll have a talk to manufactures and see whether heavy or medium would be best suited for me.

    Thanks again for the replies!

How was it to fit? Any tips?

I found them relatively easy to fit, they just bolt straight in. You may need a set of spring clamps to get the rear springs in, but apart from that a couple of hours tops.
