Hi,
I am changing all the PS hoses hopefully this weekend and have some new PAS fluid (purpleish colour). I want to flush all the old fluid out but its a dexron 3 or 2 judging by colour.
do any of you know if these two fluids will cause problems if temporarily mixed whilst flushing?
i was thinking to remove the hose ends first and letting most of the old fluid out and then put new hoses on and top up with new fluid and bleed it, and then flush the thing a couple of times over with new fluid till most of the old stuff (hopefully almost all) is gone
does this sound correct?
also i may be doing cooling system too at the same time. i read its easier to change one of the power steering hoses with the radiator out?
cant wait to finally drive the ****** thing. been about 8 weeks now since she touched the ground.

Won't hurt mixing the fluids for a bit. If you can get the end of the pressure hose into a container, start car and run for 30 seconds, will get most of the old stuff out. Or let drain naturally once all the hoses are off.
just dropping the pressure hose or the return line wont get most of the fluid out of power steering system, you nedd to cycle the steering lock to lock to clear the driving piston in the powerss teering box I usually do this by feeding a tube down into the reservior and into the return hose spigot then starting a syphon, while the engines running and someone constantly swings the steering lock to lock (jack up the front axle) keep topping up as the system pumps out the oil.
it'll take more than a couple of liters to do it right. IF you stay on DEX III you can getwy with just draining and refilling the reservior every second service. but I reccomend changing just the reservior every service.
