    Why is there OBD connector?

    Hi all!

I have 96 disco 300 tdi manual. No airbags no abs no egr. Didn'get any fobs when i bought the car. Central locking with key works only on driver's door. I do how ever have led light on dash between tacho ans speedo, looks like orange in colour. Never saw it lit up tough. Connectors that are supposed to be going in alarm / remote locking module in passenger feet area are not plugged into anything and one has linking wire plug in it with a yellow sticker and some code numbers on it, looks like factory original.

What is the obd connector for then? It is installed on a cover rail above pedals.

    Thanks!

I have it as well but i do have driver windbag, alarm/ immobiliser and remote c/locking with fobs. I reckon its there from factory in case the body/chassis was destined for a V8 fitment.
