I am doing head gasket too soon and now I'm worried. Mines done 250k n runs well.
Why do anything at all, if its run 250 K why not wait untill it leaks?
But thought while doing head gasket to maybe do big ends n rings at same time. Probably waste of time though. Have my marriage to consider as well.
I wouldn't touch it, 250 k is not big miles for a Tdi, if its running Ok and not excessive blow by.
( you coulds use some of the the money for a nice restaurant and weekend away, think of the bonus points in that :D:wasntme:)
My first wife drove our defender for 5 kms with a broken serpentine belt, it got quite hot. "she thought it would be OK" :mad:
about 10 years ago, I worried about it for months, but it's history now, the old 300 tdi seems none the worse for it.
