    Wheel Nuts

    Hi,

    I have the normal wheel nuts on mine with those caps that go on them (non locking). because the caps are are all bent etc. a 27mm socket won't go on most of them. tried 28mm and that will go on some. 29mm is too big for all of them.

    how can i removed the caps? i dont have the wheel brace that came with the car so it means buying the right socket and i dont want to fork out for three different sizes.

    What about one of those wheel braces with 4 different sizes?

    The caps arent made to come off...

    Knock a socket on and they will re-size

    thats what i was thinking but i was scared i wont be able to pull the socket back off. i found the original wheel brace in the car. barely fits on any of them. should i try knocking the 28mm socket on? that one seemed to fit a lot better

    The caps can come off but you need to cut them off - A few goes with tinsnips & then they sort of peel off. The remaining nut isn't very attractive but I guess that's the least of your worries.

    Had the same trouble when I bought my car , I just knocked on 27mm six point impact socket works great.
