    wheel turn stops

Sorry for two threads in as many minutes. i have looked at my turn stops on the weekend and there is not enough adjustment left on them. basically on the last of the thread and with the 245/75 tyres on now the wheels rub at full lock on the radius arms.

when the front of the vehicle is off the ground there is about 15mm max of space at full lock. slightly uneven between the two sides as well. little bit more of a gap on the driver side wheel. we are talking about 3-4mm. on the ground it rubs though on full lock.

is there a little wheel inside the hub which turns when you turn the adjustment nut or is it possible to find a longer bolt and replace the existing one? i basically have only one thread left on the back of the locknut.

starting to get very frustrated with the car. seems everything that can go wrong is going wrong. always worst case scenario for everything after all the love and time i have put into it.

No wheel in the hub, probably just need a longer bolt.
When i was using 245/70's i never had a problem with rubbing, that only started when i went up to 265's. When the weight is on the tires they bulge hence why its clear off the ground then rubbing when weight back on.

    Somethings amiss there...

    245-75 shouldnt be rubbing...

And yes, you can replace them with M10 Umbrako bolts to suit!

is it possible the sh.t wheel alignment the place did could be contributing?

i thought the original bolts were 1/4bsf? thats what keeps coming up when i do a search. seems a bit skinny though. they did look more like m10 size.

Any chance of a pic to help.

Longer bolts are an option but shouldnt be necessary.

Those 2 will help stop us guessing

Also measure the distance between the front wheels. At the front and rear of the tyre, this'll give you an idea of the toe in/out as nick suggested

both front and rear of wheel is 1.69m so no toe in or toe out. theyve just aligned it straight even after i gave them page out of the manual which shows the alignment and told them how to do it. i guess better that than they having done it toe in.

so with the alignment being straight i guess i could theoretically adjust it to be toe out slightly and should give me enough clearance to radius arms? as it is very close now to clearing. the passenger side wheel seems closer to radius arm. the drivers side mostly doesnt touch unless you are on certain angle.

What rims are you using and what is their offset?

Was the vehicle modified much when you got it? Maybe the bolts were changed for some reason by the previous owner? (Can't see why, but just a thought).

I also have 245-75's and I made a very small adjustment when they were fitted, but no issues like you're facing. Something is not right....
