This may be a long shot & might be difficult if it's a very intermittent fault, but sometimes an alternator fault can interfere with the EFI system.
I worked on a very problematic early 3.9 RR in about 1992 that had a similar fault to yours but the misfire was fairly easily replicated in a certain rev range. The misfire disappeared once the alternator belt was removed.
Thanks for the info guys. The disco is my spare car and Iv been fixing my wife's toyota for the past week so she had my new triton since she is not a fan of the disco lol... Anyway the Toyota is now fixed, the disco is now in the shed and I'm gonna start going over her and try to sort out some issues lol
Have had this come on occasionally (just a brief flash) with no other effect. This is on gas with a 3.9 pre update.
Chased around a bit and it is supposed to be some sort of ECU fault/warning so probably several things could trigger it. It may do something re fuel injection but this wouldn't affect old style LPG.
Yep efi symbol just check usual suspects earths /wiring , coil/module airflow meter , coolant temp sensor etc etc
