Ive heard that the old 3.5 had secure piston liners and now I'm about to wreck a 1993 V8 car which has only 150k on it. My question is about the bore liners in this very early 3.9 engine. Does the early (non serpentine belt)3.9 in the 1993 has the same secure type of liners as the 1991 3.5v8. This it is not the serpentine belt motor of the later models which I keep hearing are prone to dislodging the liner seals when getting hot. The reason Im worried is that I travel long distances at 100kph with a heavy tool trailer (1.5 tons) and there has been the odd time where my car has overheated due to living in a hot climate and towing. Maybe time to buy a big truck and let all the cars go bye bye :-(
