you just havent learnt how to talk to it properly yet. you have to remember its a bit like the english language, they just went and borrowed bits and pieces from here and there that sounded good at the time. Which they then balanced with a very large dose of pig headedness, decided they had to re-invent the wheel and did just whatever the hell they thought seemd like a good idea at the time.

Sometimes they did class leading work, others well, I think we can forgive the marque for the freelander.
I'd like to meet 2 people from LR.

    1. Person who designed that diff lock hi/lo linkage on LT230
    2. Whoever signed off on engineering slack in LT230 hi/low selector ring dog gear

I'd ask them what they were on at the time, maybe they could share a little

Maybe a few more, but these 2 will do for now.

Well, if I wanted another 80% bush 20% road machine but in LR range, I'd go defender. Disco is still capable, but with some class

I love mine, been bogged twice in it. Only once i had to be rescued. Other than that just a few temporary stucks, which a bit of careful driving or max traks couldn't fix.

To me it's about picking the right lines and not trying to determine who has the biggest knob.

Absolutely...I hate getting bogged. This was on my own property so it didnt matter. I was actually trying to see what it was like in and high and low diff lock, this happened after I had stopped to place it into high...not enough speed up to keep rolling through the mud.

I popped out the EGT, its hard to know how much to tighten it up so it doesn't break.
