    Am I running TOO COLD!

    300tdi Disco Auto

My thermostat says 82, which after doing some reading I understand is for a 200tdi.....is that correct? 88C I think is for 300tdi.

My operating temperature without A/C is about 78-82C, mostly around 79C and only higher with hills. A/C cranks it up to 82C and at 100kmh about 83-85C. My max temp so far pulling up a steep hill with A/C on is 89C. When hill climbing with A/C on I cant imagine which thermostat really matters as both would be fully open.

I am I running too cool?

Would love those temps I'm running 5 degrees warmer on all those numbers but apparently I'm all good too.

so long as your hot idle temperature hasnt suddenly increased.

no-one with a tdi is to be concerned with a hot idle temperature of anything up to 92 degrees.

what you are to be concerned with is how quickly it drops the temperature after you get off the noise and hold a high idle.

if it hasnt made progress downwards in about 2 minutes and stabalised below 95 in 5 minutes then you can worry about things.
