Thread: Variable brake pedal height

Have a 96 petrol with ABS brakes, they operate as well as Disco brakes do including ABS function most of the time but occasionally say every every 20 pushes the pedal goes a lot further to the floor than normal, have bleed brakes and there is no feel that they pump up like brakes with air in the system do.
I suspect the master cylinder is on the way out, anyone suggest any other possible cause or checks before i replace the master cylinder, is it worth buying a kit or replace complete MC unit.

As far as I know a 96 Disco ABS master cylinder is not rebuildable. There are no kits that I am aware of.
