Wow... what a run. Love the fact you have all these stats. In particular the 40km/day and $8/day depreciation.
Its always hard seeing them drive away. Makes it easier when there's a new green oval in the driveway tho
Cheers

Today I sold my 1997 Tdi Disco after 6650 days of ownership (from new) ... it was sold to a nephew of some one who visits this site I was told ... not sure who.
few quirky facts to ponder... it averaged ~40kms per day for its life with me (~260,000kms total). Although the last few years its probably been closer to 20kms as it was only used on the weekends for the occasional trips to "bunnings" and once a yr to the Flinders Ranges.
Its depreciated to about 7% of its initial purchase price + accessories which works out about $8 per day before you add running costs and maintenance.
I think I looked afer it well and it served me well, nothing major ever went wrong but the following was fixed along the way..
Blown Head gasket.
2 x "P" gaskets and 2 x waterpumps.
1 x Clutch
Few Diff Pinion Seals
Few Rubber Donuts for the tail shaft
Roof Lining
3 sets of tyres
Alernator
Fuel Pump
Lots of Batteries
Front Brakes
Various suspension rubbers.
I kept fuel records for most of the time and it averaged ~11litres per 100kms.
It was due for a service , some tyres and brake work and hence was sold without a RWC. I really dont like selling cars privately as I'm worried a few days after its gone it will fall in a heap..... Fingers crossed that won't happen for the new owner and he will continue to get as much enjoyment out of it as I have
My new life starts in a 2004 Rangie I bought a few weeks ago.... just need to turn it into an outback tourier..
Bye Bye Disco![]()
