Ya got me paranoid now hahaha.

Given the rovergauge uses the same values given to the standard gauge does that mean it can not be relied upon?????
Yes the fans come on with AC... usually if I get past 90C or so Ill cut the AC, the electrics dont come on..temp too low.

I think with those two large switches if it gets past the threshold the AC will turn OFF and fans stay ON.

    What is a rovergauge?

The temp reading you see will also depend on sender location, mine from the MadMan fitting is in the top hose which may be a few degrees cooler than the head water temp. I should move it..not really happy with it in the top hose.

Rovergauge is a program i use to connect to my car and read it real time.

Also i agree with you on the location being wrong.
If i decide to use a digital reader i will locate it on the other side of the thermostat. In my case as i run gas i can steal the hot water feed to that which comes from the mainfold prior to thermostat so a more accurate reading of engine temp i would imagine......

Ps that gauge does not do much apart from clear codes but does give some real time readings.

I see..... LOL. All my responses were in relation to a 300 Tdi. I get confused as two very different engines types in the one forum, really should be split IMO. I see the poster didnt state which engine in the original post.

I have no idea what happens re the cooling in the v8,.
