I don't think there's much you can do to help at this stage - at that kms you've sort of had your money's worth.
There are good rebuilders around and I would head for one with a good reputation, plenty of people to ask in your neck of the woods.
Looks like the auto is on its way out in the wife's disco (355000 on the clock)
the dash warning light comes on pretty quickly and the shifting feels a tad lazy?
does fitting a trans cooler make much difference once they get to this stage?

if the oil levels right and the cables right the only thing you can do is drive it nicely and try to keep it in lock up as much as you can.
the oil temp light might also be coming on early if the sender is failing.
if the oil light is coming on because the oil is getting hot it'll get you a little more time but only because its preserving the oil not protecting whatever is wrong/worn in the box.

It should have an oil cooler standard, when you say it was serviced, did they change the oil filter, did they remove all of the old oil, or just the 5L or so that drains from the sump.
Your bill should show how much oil they replaced, did you get to see the old filter.
As Dave said the cable adjustment is critical to correct pressures, see the workshop manual for adjustment, the measurements need to be right, I fitted a cooler off a D2, twice the size of a D1 and it helped, Regards Frank.
