    Bung ignition switch ?

Went to start the disco after work and not much happened. I did notice though when I got the key into a certain spot it tried to crank. So it looks a lot like a bung ignition switch or a worn key. So the disco is still at work. Will have to try and jump start it at the starter if it won`t start normally. If the key is the issue I will just install a push button start.

Decades of sorting electrics on Velocettes to Nubians suggests it's usually best to try the easiest and simplest things first Hall, as electrics are finicky things when old and a bit dirty and worn, but they respond well to a bit of TLC.
So, please forgive me if I'm telling Grannie how to suck eggs:

Battery OK ? Dirty battery terminals ? They let it charge and let your lights etc work, but won't let high currents past in an intermittent way. Even moving around and checking things can make a diff.
Tap the ign barrel gently with a 6" shifter or similar wt to see if it makes any diff ?
Plenty of WD/CRC/etc squirted deep inside and gently moving the key in, out and around first ?
Check the wiring, relay (cab), solenoid (at the starter), and starter motor connections ? They can all loosen off and make it seem like the ign switch is the culprit.
Check the wires/joints around the back of the barrel ?

Love to hear the outcome either way.
    Cheers

Was a lose battery connection. Tightened that up and it started. Now the battery has been full charged the ignition issue has gone.

My understanding is wd /crc spray in a lock is not a good move but Graphite powder is a far better option
