THERMOSTAT REPLACED - NOW LOSING COOLANT

    Hopefully not a major issue!
    I have 1993 V8 Discovery

I just replaced the thermostat.. easy job.
Took the car for a test drive and straight away it started to stutter/shake with a small back fire. Thinking it might sort itself out as they do sometimes, it then seemed to lose power and then stalled with coolant pouring out from the bottom rear of the engine. Now it won't start! And won't hold any coolant.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers.

Only thing at that location would be a welsh plug or worst case a cracked block.

Coolant on dissy cap causing a backfire? Coolant leak in valley (thermostat housing, hose...) can drain to the rear and leak down the back. Heater hoses also run across the rear of motor...
