I would stick with a copper radiator and standard viscous fan unit.
Hi All
The radiator on my 1997 3.9 V8i Discovery 1 has developed a small leak. Looking at the core I can see that the radiator has had a hard life so I am thinking of buying a new radiator. I have seen a number of people advertising aluminium radiators for the Discovery 1. I have also seen some advertised with dual electric fans to replace the standard fans. What do people think of these aluminium radiators and also what do people think of replacing the standard fan with the dual electric fans on the aluminium radiators?
Regards

Do a search the electric fans conversion has been brought up many times. Electric fans are not deemed to draw sufficient air flow when off roading in low range when you need the cool air being drawn in most . Stick with a working viscous.
I'm running an aluminium radiator and electric fans good for most of the time BUT and it's a very big BUT for heavy work like towing sand or hard going the electrics come off and the viscous back on
if your not prepared to swap them then I would recommend staying with the viscous jobbie
