anyone had any experiance with 4wd supacentre light bar wiring kits?

iv tried to setup same as their video and get nothing nearly ready to bin it and wire it from scratch atleast it will work the first time then

but surely im missing something really simple the most that happens is my headlights dim down a bit and thats about all i can get it to do

I haven't used the supercentre wiring kits But I have used a couple of the other Chinese kits before without any dramas except for the relays and switches which were crap that I swapped out.
If the loom is dimming your headlights then it isn't setup correctly because the only power that is taken from the main lights is used to operate the relay which draws bugger all power.
I notice that on the supercentre looms they have a 3 pronged piece that is used to patch into the back of the headlights, Maybe the plugs in this connector need to be changed around to suit the D2's lights.
On my D2 I only have the 2 prong connectors as the high and low beams are separate globes, If yours are the same and you have used the 3 prong supercentre connector then I would be looking at these.

Kind of hard to assess the problem you are having from this post.

So, gto answer the first part of your question, yes, I have experience. It worked seamlessly and perfectly first time. So, perhaps you've done something wrong. Lets face it, driving light, or light bar, wiring ain't rocket science.

One thing, though. You do remember that LEDs are polarity dependent? That is, unlike most other lights, they only work wired one way?

    More info would help.

im a tad anoyed with it as i bought the kit to make it quicker iv done spotty relay wiring before a few times on dads patrol but without the highbeam side of things i think il swap my indicater stalk first so high beams stay on but il probably bypass the highbeam side of things and use an acc power wire for a trigger instead

but for the most part i havent had the most pleasant of experiances with this wiring kit so far i was hoping after hooking everything up properly it would all just work for me but alas that hasnt been the case

anyways will put this on the back burner for a few days i gotta get my new gearbox in first then i can sort these smaller things out

They are super simple to install, i switched a few wires around so the bar is active on low beam since i mostly use it for slow offroad night work.
Does the switch illuminate with your high beams on ? They come with a 24V relay as well so check that it isnt connected to the loom already.

D1 should have the 3 pronged std H4 type plug end.(post is in the D1 section, so I'm assuming for a D1)

At first I couldn't understand the issue at hand .. and then I searched for info on the 4WD Supacentre led light bar, and I saw the pics they have on their website as to the wiring supplied for the light bar.

The first thing I'd be checking is the supplied relay. It's almost certain to be a cheapo Chinese type, which means the internals could be anything from fried rice, to wonton soup!
Pretty much a gambling game with them, so recycle it before fitting, even if it does work(which is probably unlikely anyhow) .. get a known quality brand(whatever .. Narva, Bosch don't matter .. but will work for a lot longer)

About a year ago, I fitted a light bar with a similar wiring kit to my brother in laws and when it was ready to light up, it flashed and then nothing. The relay would make a 'clock' sound meaning it was doing something(not necessarily the same thing as working tho!) .. so we assumed it was wiring, or that the LEDs or internal driver had blown or something, after pulling most of the install apart, I thought to just try a new relay and see .. and bingo! ... lights(no camera, but ...) and action!.. for my brother in law.
Whatever that 'clock' sound was in the Chinese relay, wasn't the same as the tick sound of a normal relay .. so either wonton soup or lots of moving parts just fusing themselves to high heaven!

The first clue for you will be .. is the relay coming on when you light them up. You will hear a sound from it as the internal contacts click against each other.

    What year D1 is it?(if it's a D1)

The one for my lightbar worked perfectly, straight out of the box, as did the one for the spotlights. (On a D1)

In fact, despite the dire warnings of the "cheap is nasty" brigade, I haven't had any problems with any of the gear I've bought from 4wd Supacentre

The Only place that this can happen on these wiring looms is where they plug into the back of the headlights.
The OP also hasn't told us what sort of truck he is having problems with so it is hard to give a definitive answer to his question.

I'd have thought that it being posted in the D1 area that it's safe to assume a D1

But I'm with Tombie, in that if the lights are dimming a little, that power is going somewhere, and if the relay is not a well known brand/quality then I'd suspect that first(mainly coz it's easy)

until the OP comes back with more and detailed info, not much we can help with.
