Why, the safari ones work perfectly fine. Turbo will suck as much as it needs so unless there is a major restriction it will do the job.
just wondering about my safari snorkel. seems to have bends and change of shape all over the place to get around bits and pieces. looking at US versions, the snorkel is a bit longer on the outside and then they cut into where the air filter housing is directly (as it is on opposite side of car. ours have to go in between the window washer bottle and exhaust, inlet pipes). anyway what im getting at. i want to make straight through intake, reduce all those bends and make aluminium pipe that goes further on the outside and then cuts into just below where the air filter housing is and connect directly in there. thus giving a direct airflow straight in.
am i dreaming, or would this be ok? can anyone see any issues with this? can anyone see any point in this? as in, would it make a little difference? or is it waste of time.

Yea, but seems like a lot of twists and turns. When you look at allisport, md or allard website they all state that raised air intake is restricting and will void warranty. What's the reason for this? Same as sports vehicles have the least restrictive air intakes they can within rules. Im saving up for a vnt and was thinking of doing a more direct air intake to go with my less restrictive exhaust which is straight through 2 3/4 inch.
