    Replace door outer 'paddle' handle

    Hi,
There are lots of threads on here about fixing door lock problems. But i couldn't find the info i was after.
I want to just replace the actual 'paddle' door handle on the outside drivers door on my D1 not the whole locking mechanism as then i would have to change the lock barrel as well presumably.
Do i need to pull the whole mechanism out or can i just replace the paddle in situ?
    Somebody snapped mine in half...
    Thanks!

The outer door handle is pretty easy to get out ( there are tricks...but not hard )

I dont know if you can get the "paddle" bit, but a complete door handle isnt that hard to find 2nd hand.

just change the lock barrel over

Mine also broke. It was pretty easy to remove the 'paddle'. I couldn't be bothered looking for a handle so I fabricated one using the broken one as a template. I used stainless steel box tube to cut it from..looks a bit untidy, but what the hell it's a landrover and it works.
