Unhappy Radiator or a pope sprinkler HMMM

Yep the radiator in my disco has sprung a leak. Is looking from the front on the top seam of the right tank. Does not leak when running. Must close up with heat and as the radiator cools opens again and leaks a bit of coolant. So a question. I have seen advertised on evil bay aluminum radiators, are the any good? Does any one have one fitted to there disco?

I'm still yet to fit mine.. just lack of time and occasional laziness.
actual reason is that the one in the car is working fine, is full copper, and I want to do my eventual swap as a complete thing with the intercooler and new aluminium frame.
Si when I eventually do mine, it's the entire frame that comes out and new stuff goes in.

    Quality is 'so so'.
    Don't expect professional level quality.
I don't doubt that the radiator will do it's job tho.

One thing about my all copper rad, and the aluminium one, the Al rad is 3 core, and the tubes are definitely larger on this Al rad compared to the Cu rad.

If you can get a reasonably priced recore and yours has copper side tanks, probably better to get that fixed as a priority.
If yours has the plastic side tanks, so replacement would be like for like (if I were you) I'd try my luck with the aluminium rad instead.
I've seen them at $200 sometimes(why I got mine) by some sellers on ebay, but generally at $250ish

Note that I have no normal cooling issues, but the 300 tdi does get a bit too hot for my liking with the AC on in high temps(mid 30's and above).
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Have you tried a radiator place...might be able to get it repaired, flushed and pressure tested all in one go.

If the old one is still good then keep using it
