5sp manual w/ D-gas, Maxi Drive rear, 245/75/16 rubber, dual batteries, other stuff.
That's about right, depending on the exchange rate at the time of purchase.
They have 'em for about 1K Pounds, which in today's money ... real money, not money based on some fallacious mass unit! ... about $1800(Au)
add freight, if you also opt for the additional exhaust horns .. and any other addons .. $2K and above.
Add GST, add some stoopid import excise that the shipping company will almost invariably charge ..
One of the reasons I had to delay my decision to do it too ..
so as a side note: I've seen some local sellers have them on some websites of their. Sorry a bit vague on exact details, but I recall seeing pricing in the $2100-2300 price range.
If I locate the site(s) I remember coming across, I'll post back.

Seems the gst plus import duty will be about $400.
An extra 20%
Can you not claim it as truck parts or for business and get out of paying import duties?
Allisport is quite helpful too. Last time I spoke to them they were willing to help bring the taxes down somehow. Not sure how but all legally I would say.
Now seriously thinking a hybrid turbo could be a better option as nearly as good and a LOT less expensive. Anyone have experience of these?

Video here of fitting one.
Fitting a Hybrid Turbo | 1998 Landrover 300Tdi Discovery | Part 1 - YouTube Follow the youtube links to see his road test - he was very happy with it. He also had an uprated intercooler.
Allard also sell this unit ( i think) but complete with manifold etc on exchange basis and not cheap.
Emailed Andrew at Allard about performance differences and he thought that they were not that different and the same at the top end - so both give much improved low to mid range performance. Edit this is incorrect....allards hybrid turbo is in a larger housing so naturally allows higher flow....so quite different/better than simply swapping out the cartridge per the link above
If you are after something lower cost and a decent upgrade the hybrids are a good option.
VNT's are great, but the price is not!
