Have had the Disco since last year and have upgraded suspension components and bull bar. Car is running smooth and is very capable off road as all of you Disco owners would know. Any other mod advice in general would be much appreciated. In Melbourne so point me in the right direction for any mod/accessory purchase locations in relation to diff / steering guards, front recovery points etc. Thank you.

If you don't already have a low water alarm , it is highly recommended.
as above ... or an external coolant temp gauge that actually shows real time temps.
EGT gauge will be a valuable asset too.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Thank you all .. your help is much appreciated. I've looked at the APT site and it looks good.
Can I ask what brand / type of low water alarm everyone's using?
There used to be (maybe still is but I can't find it) a Dave's Interesting Things online shop on this site which sold all sorts of useful stuff including water level monitors for various engines. A simple and easily installed device, I have one on my D2 V8. There is also a more complex Madman or something like that brand device commercially available which has other functions as well.

They're not low coolant alarm as such, but I'm personally a fan of the Engine Watchdog units for engine temperature monitoring. I've got them in 3 vehicles and they have saved me from major engine damage more than once.
I've got both the TM2 and TM4 (dual sensor) versions. Both work well, but I prefer the TM2 as I find the TM4 difficult to read.

I use this one (from the AULRO shop). Very easy to install and pretty bullet proof. What I like about it is the failsafe nature. When you first start the engine, it does a short buzz (a self diagnostic check) to let you know it's working. It's also easier to fit as it has a buzzer and a LED, which takes up very little dash space, which is extremely limited in a D1.
