I was definitely told and quoted by my local diesel injector guy that he would rebuild my injectors by putting on a set of new tips and then 'shimming the pins that are inside the injector' to get them working like new...

That's a new development then, not long ago these Bosch ones were not rebuildable...

    They are rebuildable...

    BUT...

its a bitch of a job.

the number of hours it takes can easily have the labour cost alone outweighing the cost of purchasing new injectors.

I just bought new ones. Ease of mind. I’m sure the guy can do good job but the price difference isn’t worth it in my opinion. You never know. He might rebuild one to show the apprentice and then let him/her/zer/zim/it do the other three.

When i did mine the consensus was that you can’t rebuild them and changing tips was a waste of time. I just splashed out on new ones.

Yup. I just bought a new set for the same price as getting the old ones rebuilt.
