I pulled all the holders off and cleaned etc. i still think that top globe is not seated right.

anybody know where the earth is for the left indicator. I believe the centre light and the right brake are earthed together and the left lights have their own. i can see a black wire heading down with the wires for the bumper lights. I do have a leak on that side of the car at rear so it leads me to believe that the water may have caused corrosion to the earth (if it is down there somewhere) which is why the problem is there. Just a thought.
the other thought is that it joins the bumper lights and with bumper off it's causing issues as there is no continuation. If somebody can give me location of earth i will have a look. will probably mean disassembling my rear drawers to get to it i assume. :(

found this for anyone interested. doesn't help me as it doesn't tell where the earth points are but still could be useful to someone.
I vaguely remember seeing it there when I pulled my LHS speaker unit out to reattach a wire and tighten it's screws, but not 100% sure and it was a while back too.
Maybe two wires coming off the same eye connection point(again from memory, but failing memory at that).
Best way to describe it would be at about the level of the seam between the speaker trim panel and the main side panel.
If you don't want to pull the speaker out, then if you pull the light access hatch out, AND the cubby trim panel(if you have them) duck your head from low down looking up into the light access port and you will see a 8 or 10mm nut deep inside up there.
But speaker removal will make it much easier to see/reach.
Do you have a copy of RAVE?
If so, which one, what items does it have.
If you have AULRO's version of RAVE for the D1, you need to find the pdf file named 'etlj950x.pdf' which is a fairly complete electrical library.
Shows you all the earth points(hence my reference to earth point E400 above).
I have rave but doesn’t show any electrical diagrams. I looked at link i had up there and mentions numbers etc and shows cct but nothing that actually shows where the earths are placed on vehicle. I found an earth on right side which comes from right light wiring and earths onto a part of the fuel filling tube.
I’ll check where you said. But I won’t get time to look before weekend. Was hoping to take disco down south with me but ran out of time. Will have to take my wife’s work navara now. I always feel uncomfortable in cars like that. I like my disco it suits me better.
Thanks for your help though I appreciate it. On a good note my daughter fell asleep in the car so i took the time to touch up the panels under bumper and pulled all the bits off the bumper too ready for painting.
If you do a search in Windows Explorer for the name of the file I mentioned above, and if found this is what you need.
I'm not a fan of the circuit diagrams style, but it's better than nothing.
If you use the RAVE main menu system, no you won't get to the electrical library.
You need to open this 'etlj950x' file manually.
On the RAVE CD, look for the folder named 'pdf'
Inside this folder is another set of folders, look for the one named 'lj' (LJ is the Disco 1 model name).
Inside this lj folder is the etlj950x file, open it with your PDF viewer.
Note that etlj950x, etlj960x and etlj970x are all electrical library, just slight variations for the various models... any of them will do.
