Question Front seat bases - are they interchangeable left and right side?

Anyone able to advise if the seat bases are interchangeable between left and right side? The foam on the drivers side is squished down on there right (door side) while the passenger side looks new. Given that generally there's only a single person in the vehicle thought I could just swap the bases to make the driver seat more comfortable again.

The seat base foam and material is, not sure on the actual hardware (frame and stuff), but I think not(maybe, not sure).
I think the seatbelt fitting is the main issue.

Both the front seats in my 96 have backrest adjuster on the same side ( rhs ?? ). IIRC, the adjusters are normally against the console on both. This leads me to believe the seat was swapped ( before my time).

Yep. I am driving sitting on a seat from the passengers side of another vehicle. The adjuster wheels on the seat bases just end up in different locations.
From memory there was already the threaded hole for the end of the seatbelt in the base on the correct side... Which i guess means that both front seat base frames are the same and they manufactured them with a bolt hole each side.
