    Drivers window stuck full up

On the way home ( 500 km to go) from 8000km remote desert trip the drivers window jams in up position. ( I dont begrudge the old disco this minor issue after thousands of km of corrugations!)
I have door skin off and can see that it is the rear nylon runner in the channel at window base has broken. I assume it is binding there but is quite inaccessible.
I am aware of the various fix options in good oil section.
But how can I get the window down so that I can get the regulator mechanism out?
    Any tips?

I'm pretty sure that the window has to be up(closed) to get the mechanisms out.
So with window up, undo all the lift mechanism screws out.
Note that the glass itself will be able to come out of the channel it sits in. It's held in by a rubber strip .. ie. friction.
Can be hard or really hard depending on age and condition of channel.
The channel itself can be separated from the lift mechanism too.

haven't done D1(yet .. I know it's day will come) .. done my D2 tho. Pretty much the same.

Also note: the top channel that the window slides up in also does come off the door too. A bit of a PITP(posterior) .. but if absolutely required can come off.

EDIT: note too. leave the connector on the motor till the last thing to do as you pull the mechanism down and out.
I remember I needed to 'open' the window via the switch .. to close up the scissor mechanism to get it out the door. It was a balance between lowering glass and using the switch to get the mechanism closing up a little wiggle here wiggle there .. etc.
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

    Thanks Authur
I think what i will do is get a new regulator mechanism as they are available for only $49.
So I will wait until I get one then get old one out - in the meantime, fortunately, I can drive the car with window up.

Just to note that the regulator needed to be in the closed position to get it in and out of the door.
