    Engine Swap in '97 Disco??

    Hey guys,

So I've found a '94 Disco, 300Tdi, manual, diesel, 3 door, that I'm thinking of buying....BUT, the body is ruined with crumbling rust everywhere!!
However, I may have the option of putting that engine (plus transmission etc) into the body of an AUTO '97 Disco, 300Tdi, Diesel, 5 door, as that currently has no engine, but a perfect body with no rust.

The question is, will it work?
Does anyone know if it would line up okay and if I would need to custom weld any mounts etc?
I'm aware it may be a decent amount of time to make it happen, but I'm not too worried about that because it will help me learn the ins and outs of the engine and I'll be going over it with a fine tooth comb anyway.

    Appreciate your thoughts!

    Todd.

If you have both cars side by side then it will be super easy. You will have the gearbox mounts and trim pieces you will need sitting there. There are no major difference between them.

For someone who has pulled the engine in and out before, with the RAVE manual to reference this is an easy weekend job. If you've not done something like this before, give yourself a week or so and just take you time.

    Good luck and enjoy.

    Awesome thanks Chris!
I'll have them side by side so sounds like it won't be an issue.
