you'll be back....
and we'll be acting like we never noticed you left,
hello,
after a lot of interest in my disco, i have already sold it for the full asking price. i had quite a few viewings and everybody offered full price. testament to how much care i took with it thanks mostly to the amazing help i received on here.
whilst gutted, the person i chose to take over ownership is a landrover fanatic and ex british army mechanic who has owned rovers his whole life. he asked all the right questions and noticed all the typical mods that you would do to a tdi. i knew immediately he was the right person. he is buying it for his son's birthday who after growing up in discos travelling around europe with his dad has always had the same passion and is the only car he wanted as his first. the dad smiled as soon as i started her and said, that's what a tdi is meant to sound like.
he will be coming to collect it tonight. i am already expecting some water works as i see her driving away.
i just wanted to thank everybody here from the bottom of my heart for all the advice, time and help you have invested in helping me do what's right for her. i still have some months on subscription and will be floating around and hopefully provide help where i can but you won't hear from me as much (maybe some of you are glad). when i bought the vehicle i never expected the world i would enter and the passion involved. i thought it was reserved for italian cars but i stand corrected. i can honestly say (apart scuderia fans) i have never known such passion for automobiles and i am so happy that this passion managed to catch me as well and open my eyes to these completely individual and beautiful works of arts.
i will miss the camaraderie but i am happy that i can pass this vehicle on to someone who understands the passion and will further ignite that passion for his son.
again, thank you so much and maybe one day i will be dare to go back to being paranoid and neurotic but completely blissful and happy being so.
i wish all of you the best and take care of yourselves.
thank you AULRO the absolute best forum on the internet.
you'll be back....
and we'll be acting like we never noticed you left,
Dave

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
You've sold a car, not your love. Stick around. Lots to say yet.
