Hi mate,
On my 2014 Defender 110, I have King Wheels steel rims that are 16x7 inch with zero offset. I have 265/75R16 Hankook Dynapro M/T tyres on these and there is no problem whatsoever.
When these tyres wear out I'm going back to the 235/85R16 size and will use the same rims.
Whey you get them fitted, you can ask the tyre place to adjust your steering stops to give you maximum safe turning circle. That's what my guys did for me. They said it was a simple job.

So i'm about to buy a set of steel Kings wheels for the Disco in 0 offset. Got a price for $122 per wheel.
And i put a spirit level on the guard on the disco and had it vertical and measured 33mm out from the edge of the 235 tyre - and it looks like on a zero offset the top bit of tread may miss the arch but further down the sidewall it may hit the arch, but perhaps only just...
Does this sound right? Now that i'm thinking about it - perhaps the tyre never even gets that far up into the arch as the bump stop may stop it? I know that as one side flexes up it tucks the tyre further 'in' and would miss, but what about on bumps that push both sides tyres up into the arch?

To complicate matters - i just got off the phone to the local beaurepairs guy and he swears that the factory alloys on my Disco would be +55 or +56 i cant remember. He looked it up in a spec book that he reckons is correct 99% of the time. I was working on them only being +33. So now i have to take of a wheel and try and find the offset stamped on the back... I hope it's +33.
