Question Advice on Steering Guard D1

    Hi All,

I am seeking some advice on purchasing an after-market steering guard on my beloved Disco; I mangled the OEM steering guard on a rocky river bed during a very hairy decent. I see quite a few options out there, any thoughts? I know I could take the OEM guard off and have it re-bent, but I wondering if there might be better protection out there? Any advice welcome.

    Thanks in advance
    A

Les Richmond Automotive(LRA) does one for the D1 at about $300 .. seems quite reasonable price compared to others.

They're not far up the road from me, so just on that as well as price I'd perosnally go with them.

You can get others from the usual vendors .. dunno about their pricing now, but were usually more expensive a few years ago when I searched.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

I got mine through AMV in Ringwood years ago, not sure if they still sell them, bashed the crap out of it and its held up well but has required a few sessions with a big hammer to take some of the bends out, 8mm alloy with very solid steel mounts
