I'm fairly sure a '92 3.5 won't work with OBD scanners ... so no point wasting time searching.
It's old school, and you need old school thinking to fix any problem 'codes'.

I think you may have a 14CUX electronics system(not sure) .. but search about this system and see if it matches what you have.

Mate from memory some had a port to code read but yours would have predated the factory immobiliser for example. It was pre-abs and they had no air suspension. They had a distributor... mate I would be taking a new rotor button, cap, radiator hoses, fan belt/serpentine belt if that model had it and that type of thing and not be concerned about codes. Yep, that year will have multiple vee belts.

Thanks mate. Yes thought it might but wasn't sure. Presumably they went to the serpentine belt with the 3.9? Cheers

Serpentine belt did not come in on the disco V8 until the update was released. The interim 3.9 was V belts.

Thanks for the replies. Electronic ignition on it so I can forget the rotor and cap, I always throw in hoses and belts and spark plugs, 300 k between fuel stops means packing the fridge to the hilt. I know there is a readout under the passenger seat that gives a code number , how do I know what the code means. I've scoured the net and I've a feeling these numbers are top secret. Where can I find out code number meanings. This old girl is old school, even has window winders not electric, easy to fix. Can't be many 3 door discovery's getting around now, the guy I bought it off looked after it really well, a bonus. CODE NUMBER MEANINGS anyone,

The suspension is from the early Range Rover, coils all round, no air bags ,I'll read up on the 14CUX too but I really wanted a workshop manual, best book to read when having a beer or two or anytime really.
