    300 TDI Turbo Actuator replacement

    Hi,

Not sure if this is the right area but I currently servicing a 300TDI engine to go into my Series 3. Looking at the turbo it looks like the actuator needs to be replaced.

When I search I can see a TD5 one of ebay for $40 that looks the same but I can also see the correct part number for 300 pounds at Craddocks.

Are there any issues with using the TD5 actuator?

    Thanks for your help,
    Chris

$580 + shipping? That's nuts. You can buy a non gen entire turbo for half that..... Be worth the $40 to find out.

Interested in the 300TDi into a SIII. You using the Series trans or an R380? Or something else?

Possibility that the actuator shaft is too short on the TD5 part, which then would not allow enough spacing to get the wastegate operating right.
And also unknown if the spacing between the mounting studs are the same, but this could be modified in some way to still work.

I have one of each at home, Maybe Sunday I can do some quick measurements to see how close the TD5 actuator would be

... I've seen for sale here in Aus too for $450 ... lunacy!

But quick search on ebay has a couple at the top of the list from UK, for closer to $100Au incl postage.

    link to ebay.

    Hope that helps.
