Recently took the old girl (91 2 door on gas) for her first very long trip in 3 years of ownership, from Terrigal NSW to north of Dalby Qld to visit my brother. A distance of nearly 1900klms.
The purpose of the trip was to have him weld the rust up in the front floors as he has a workshop and pay him a visit.
I planned my trip to use as much LPG as possible but it was few and far in the bush.
Anyway the old girl returned 18/100 on gas and wait for it.........14.5/100 on petrol with LPG at $1.24 ltr and petrol $1.68, it was hardly worth the slow acceleration and gear changes.
She didn't use a drop of oil and drove like a dream.
I must admit, I was sceptical of her reliability as I don't use her much these days, but she went like a champ.
Oh, those fuel figures were with an awning and racks.1
