D1 door lock spring job
I have searched this forum and had a look around the web to get an idea of this job.
I need to do it on both PS doors.
Has anyone here done it recently?
It isn't clear to me if the front window frame needs to come out or not.
This video say it does:

but there is content elsewhere saying it doesn't.
This one for the rear door is more straight fwd.

Has anyone here done this and have any tips?

You might be able to do it without removing the channel, but I didn't. Removing the window channel is nowhere near as difficult as it appears. When you do it, I would recommend you seriously consider checking/servicing/replacing the window regulator rollers. These have a tendency to give problems, and you are going to be disturbing them. I don't have a recommendation for sourcing them, as there are many, good and bad, out there.
Just a heads up. Yours may be fine, and a bit of grease will be enough. Have fun, and a good supply of bandaids.... lol. That's not a LR joke. Working inside any older car door is often painful and patience testing.

thanks - I did the rear yesterday it wasn't too bad. But the lock actuator struggles to push the new spring. I expect the spring will soften a bit and be ok. Have lubed what I can, cant see any binding.
I will just take time with the front - starting with lifting the window frame out of the way.
