    Upper Fan Cowl

I broke the little clip off that holds the upper fan cowl in place today. The plastic is old and likely getting brittle and broke at the clip.
Looks like replacements may be difficult to find.
Because of the rare occasions it needs to be removed I'm wondering about using a cable tie to secure it in position.
Wondering what others may have done?
    Many thanks.

Not sure if you mean you have broken off the plastic bar that sits under the metal clip, or somehow broken the metal clip itself. If the plastic broke then zip tie cowling to the bar against which it rests, but remember the radiator sits right behind that bar when you drip holes. Could the broken bit be plastic welded back on?

Try places like M R Automotive in Brisbane who I believe keep some second hand bits on hand.

The metal clip remains intact - the plastic has broken where the metal clip is attached.
    Thanks for your helpful advice.
