Thread: Swapping 98 300tdi auto D1 to a manual gearbox

Hi Everyone,
I'll be swapping the manual box and the 300tdi from my 97 D1 to my 98 D1 which was originally a 300tdi auto.
We will be swapping both the engine and gearbox from the donor car into the new car.

Does anyone have any experience with doing this conversion and would have any advice?
Is it a straight forward swap?

The only thing I would say is keep the donor car until you are certain you have done everything. Clips, springs pipes etc are hard to find if you forget them. Enjoy swapping the pedal box....
