    Post Door lock actuators (master)

Hi all, it is my first post here so hello to everyone!
I have a Land Rover Discovery 1 and currently working to fix the central locking by replacing the actuators. I have found this old forum: Door lock actuators which states using JayCar actuators as a fix. However, I am having some trouble with the master actuator wiring. The current disco wiring has four wires as seen in the schematic photo I have attached, however the new master actuator from JayCar has 5 wires as seen in the other photo attached. I have tried to wire this up but I am having no luck getting the slave and master to unlock and lock together (I have only managed the slave to lock with the master but not unlock). I currently only have wired the drivers master and passenger slave for testing.

I was wondering if anyone has managed to wire the JayCar master actuator and could provide some assistance

    Thanks,
    Steve

I can have a look over the weekend(if you can wait a bit).

I've changed all actuators in my 99 D1 to 'Jaycar' types too. I just can't recall what the wiring was for the master.
But in saying this, I have, have always had, the same problem with the front pass lock, will lock, but won't unlock ... ever since I changed the actuators.
Didn't matter that the front pass had the original type in it too, just wouldn't unlock. I replaced with a Jaycar type there too still same problem.
At first it was hit and miss, and had a look at tall the rods and joints lubed them all, remade a slightly longer rod for one of the linkages too, but pretty much from day one pass door actuator has been a problem.

All other locks work perfectly, and have done for 7-8 years now.

I didn't use Jaycar actuators at first, I used a full kit, and added remote locking too, where my D1 only had key operated locking.
But I changed maybe 3 actuators, and last one was a Jaycar type, where they claim it has a higher torque value, but still same problem.

So I'm thinking, maybe the problem isn't the actuator, or the lock itself, which I had plans to change ... I think the problem is the use of an aftermarket actuator for the master!

It's weird that a few of us have had the same problem, what's the chances that the pass door lock mechanism has gone bad for all of us.

... anyhow, I'll try to get back ASAP on how I wired up the master actuator.

EDIT: I forgot to ask, do you have std remote locking? Have you installed your own remote unit? Are you just using driver door key locking?
    Arthur.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

They don't come with many instructions hey.
can't help you with your Disco but I have fitted these Jaycar ones to another car. and yes, master seemed to have too many wires.
When you purchase the whole kit, it includes it's own relay and this allows correct wiring, we just had to bypass existing central locking relay box.
That worked for all using the key in drivers door, But, the fob didn't work, so again, had to get new fob done. I remember it was all a real pain.
If you check Jaycar for the kit, a 'manual of sorts' can be downloaded, but I'll add it here.
Hopefully some one else will help with the Disco.
