    Not starting in Park

    Hello,

    Shall give scenario, pulled up, turned off 1995 Disco 1 Auto, selected Park etc. Came back in 5 minutes and turned Key, all lights work but no power or whatever to starter motor. huh? Would it be possible that the car gear selector is not activating Park. check most fuses but perhaps not the right one.

    Is there some type of switch that is activated by placing the gear in Park?

    Can anyone give me a bit of heads up on this.

    Also try the following:

    Firm push into Park and retry starting
    Select Neutral and retry starting.

    If it is the inhibitor switch, this may get it going in the short term.

    XYZ switch failing or slipped out of adjustment. Pretty close tolerance if it's anything like the D2.

    There is no XYZ switch in a D1, just a selector cable.
