Is the item circled in red the cruise control module/unit?
Kind regards

						Hello All,
The first photograph shows the + & - switch from a cruise control. Does anyone have any ideas where and what the two purple wires should connect to?
Would the two purple wires - shown in the photograph below - being disconnected from something else they should be connected to - stop the engine from starting with the turn of the key in the ignition?
Kind regards
Lionel

						Hello All,
Is the LPG to Petrol switch in the centre of this photograph meant to rock sideways between left and right?
In the first photograph attached to this post - does anyone have an idea of what the small loose switch could be? Is it standard or an after sales addition by a previous owner?
I did some research and found that the bridge and double centre line switch is the button to enable and disable cruise control - thanks Land Rover Parts - SWITCH - CRUISE CONTROL - L/ROVER DISC (ENABLE/DISABLE)
The second photograph showing two sets of buttons associated with cruise control was accessed 18th of October 2025 from, https://www.ebay.com/itm/257019062783?. Apart from the enable/disable switch and the + & - that double as the Set / Restore function switches that fit into the steering wheel .....
Are there any other buttons or switches that should be located in the cabin that are associated with cruise control?
My apologies for asking all the questions. I am a novice to Discovery 1 V8s and cruise control fitted to these vehicles. All I am working from is knowing things must be missing,
Kind regards
Lionel

SupporterI think the item circled in red is the ECU(for the engine).
Cruise control should be a vacuum unit, and there should be two cables going to the plenum cover area(throttle body). one will disappear into the firewall down to your right foot.
The other cable should terminate at a vacuum actuator(kind of almost conical shaped thing)
There should be a vacuum pump up front near the air box, and an ECU(for the cruise control) behind the glovebox.
That hanging switch could be some other part of the LPG system maybe? Does the square switch change from LPG-Petrol and back? maybe that's what the switch is for? What happens if you touch the white square on the LPG switch? If nothing, then I'd say the other toggle switch is for changeover.
I reckon, most likely, that the LPG switch is just an indicator, showing if Petrol or Gas is on, and maybe a gas level guage(that is 99.9% sure not to work!!).
Arthur.
All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

						Hello AK83 & all.
Well, it is amazing what you find online if one keeps on looking. I found a diagram that shows some of the parts associated with the cruise control.
Thank you AK83 for pointing out where I should start looking - much appreciated!
Diagram 'borrowed' 18th October 2025 from, Just a moment...
Kind regards
Lionel
