    LT77 Disco V8 gearbox leak

    1Afternoon
    Got a gearbox leak that's preventing the re-rego of my disco.
    Its leaking between the 1st and 2nd stage of the box. In the photos the oil is fathering on the alloy as it blows onto it when driving.....I guess
    The breather is clear, so I dont think it's that
    Its probably the gasket between the two sections, HOWEVER, would using a heavier oil be advantageous save pulling the box as im disabled so its APITA.
    Any suggestions welcomed I'll try and add photos

    you could try just adding a stabilizer like moreys first.

    Possibly the washer on the filter/screen????

    Apparently the oil pump can fail with a too heavy oil in these…so wouldn’t recommend it.     Mine did weep through the tapered fill plug…. Thread sealer fixed it.
