One of my Brothers has a '93 petrol D1 with a Sandon 709 compressor, which is leaking refrigerant at the shaft seal.
It is the original compressor with rota lock service valves,he has had the vehicle since '94.
Does anyone know where we can get it rebuilt preferably in SE QLd,or a suitable replacement?
Thanks in Advance.
I had a 709 in my old Volvo replace by a local A/C shop with a brand new genuine (made in China) Sanden equivalent. You just need to find a competent mechanic.
Alternatively if the bearings are ok, buy a new nose seal off FleaBay and do it yourself. I've done 3 compressors. 2 were good, one failed because the pulley bearing had been bad for so long it had flogged out the main bearings.
