The Milford barrier for the Disco does not attach to the seat belt mounts top or botton, nor does it attach to the hand rail mounts. I know because I fitted one to my daughter's Discovery.
Milford provide tapped steel plates about 5-6mm thick which go under the floor for the lower brackets. The top bracket bolt to straps back to brackets (again 5-6mm thick) bolted to the body frame near the alpine windows. (they are a pig to fit!)
If you always drive with the rear seat up, then that seat will help take the forward loading forces in an accident.
I'm more concerned with the loadings on the seatbelt bolts in an accident - if the back of the car is loaded with heavy goodies.
ok then where are the mounts that are provided at the top other than a drill hole in the panal work ???

big difference between putting someone down and pointing out that what they have done is
1) non adr compliant and therefore technically illegal
2) liable to blow their insurance if they have any and that then can have an affect on other people IF something were to happen.
you need to get your head around the fact that this is a public forum and that these types of places are "observed" by those that take issue with those that risk others by fitting non adr'ed equipment..
as much as you dont like it, there are rules for a reason other than to be broken.. and sometimes people lose sight of the fact that little things can have very big consequences when something goes wrong.
One has to drill holes in the floor and fit the plates provided by Milford. Ditto for the top.
I thought I had the Disco fitting instructions on my website but I don't. I may have them on my laptop. If i do, I'll upload them shortly.
mmmmmmmm im getting the feelin im really not wanted in this site "call me stupid or what but if thats how l come under the banner or somone who is "putting others in danger " buy protecting my own family, i dont know what its coming down to
