im assuming that its the updated dash because the compliance plate says December 1994

Hi Eddie, it's a Land Rover, not that straight forward. Mine has a Oct 94 build Date, Aust compliance 95. The change was some time mid 94, I forget as I just know that mine is an update D1.
What's the Chassis number is it an LA series or MA??
Do you have the twin temperature controls or single??
Larger Headlights or the pre update small ones with black surrounds.

i have a brand new matrix sitting in the garage & have been working on an idea for this for a while now.
i reckon if you got rid of the aluminium tubes that run through the firewall & made new hoses with heater hose (rubber) & used some of the old ally ones to make joiners you could almost wiggle the matrix in & out without all the disassembly. it may be that a small piece of the dash bracketing needs trimming to allow it to move but it's better than the alternative i reckon.

my mistake, the date of manufacture is September 1994, i cant tell you what the aust compliance is, because its currently at my gf's property. The vin is SALLJGMM7MA115199

it has the larger square headlights like the 1995-1999 type

just a quick one.. i was just looking through the service book.. what colour is "niagara" ? because thats what colour is written in there for mine.. i thought it was simply either black or gun metal grey.. (or is that sort of the same thing?)
