LT1 chevs are cheap as chips, let me know how to modify Lucas flapper injection to get correct A/F ratios on a larger cube rover motor? it'd be much appreciated by HEAPS of people exactly how you did it??

Or was it a 14CUX? maybe used unichip, well there goes near 2k once its tuned, thats the cost of an LT1 if your good

    Very true
Why any idiot would not mod the standard motor is beyond me. I guess ignorance and those with little knowledge on engines, would.

There is someone in this group, thankfully on my "Ignore list", who would qualify

    Cheers,

I once fitted a chev into my RR and wouldn't do it again. The conversion was easy enough and i did it im my garage of a couple of days. The RR was pre injection so I didn't have any of EFI issues however the donk was too heavy for the vehicle and caused it to understeer.

I don't profess to know the weight difference on an LS1 however.

You get peanuts who drop chev engines into Jaguars, then find out the error of there ways, along with there wasted money, when they take it for a run on the highway

Too light in the front. Jaguars have very heavy engines and are built to carry them.

Why not buy a 3.9V8 and stick in it?

Far less trouble and it will bolt straight in.
That old Discovery must be in excellent condition if you want to waste large sums of money on it

On the same token you could by an Olden V8 5.7 computer box and all out of the latter model commodores for like $4500

At the work shop dads got a crap old 40 series crusier the guy who owns it has paid $6500 for spanker 350 Chev from states food for thought rebuilding a Rover motor no dout would be a whole lot more what are chances of picking a 3.9 in good nick

What an argument over what to put in???? Chill guys....

Chevs are a great strong motor and easy to convert..... ive had one in a Volvo and Jag.

Rover V8's very nice... but not cheap to build... and the HP gains from a 4.6 is not that impressive.. Mind you i'm putting a 3.9 in my county...

Hemi with 727 auto.... mmmmm Now we are talking and not much heavier than a Tdi. Lighter than an Isuzu

    my 30c
