This poor old thing is Dave. 300TDi manual. He has an Ashcroft suffix L R380 which has done maybe 25,000 k, MaxiDrive 49% Crawler gears, MaxiDrive rear locker and a mildly upgraded turbo. He is as rough as bags cosmetically. About three years ago he made a funny noise engine wise and started missing. I parked him up. Given my circumstances at the time I simply gave up, and he has been sitting ever since. Seems to me I have four choices, do nothing, fix him up, part him out or move him on to a good home.
Wadda ya think?
Edit: Remembering to ad pix helps.

Sell me your bullbar and winch.... I mean part it out [emoji12]
Mine is also rough cosmetically. But it looks like yours has good bones. Any rust? Sounds like it's got some awesome goodies on it. I'd try and save it. But then I've got history with tragic cars so am probably not the best one to advise here [emoji1787]
Rust in the front floors. Take one leaky screen and add LR’s brilliant idea to make the carpet underlay out of the most water absorbent material known to man and what else should I have expect?Quote:

He’d make a good project though.
Sounds like a lot of work. You'd better send me the bull bar....
I've been watching and looking at a lot of pommy forums. The lengths they go to to cut out rusty floors etc. I'm sure the floor pan wouldn't be hugely expensive to import.
Put it up on the forum for sale and someone might be keen. You'd need the correct audience (like here) for a project car. [emoji106]
I can get into enough trouble on my own. Getting you a divorce isn't in my immediate plans..... Still, the 2" lift IS nice.... And the 265s.
Jokes aside, Dave was a great car for the tracks. His body had had its fair share of soft knocks. He was never set up for touring...., well maybe he was from new, as there is a trailer brake controller. But I have used trees as a way to get him to where he needed to be. Nothing major, but I wouldn't have done it in the D2. He'll never be a family tourer, the $$$ would be excessive. Maybe I should fix him enough for club plates and tow him behind the OKA...
Don't want a D2 do you, Pricey?
No, I'd better not buy a D2. I think that would get me divorced fairly quickly..... [emoji12][emoji1787]
What, you couldn’t sell the concept of his and her’s Discos?Quote:
