Fairly unmolested and original.
3 months in and I broke it (Im thinking timing belt related)
Dig a little deeper...

Stud broke. Yes, it was the upgraded stud, and yes it was at the correct tension. ( the rust is because it's been open for a while. Going back together now )
If you find similar damage be sure to look down the push rod holes at the bronze fittings on top of the lifters. Sometimes they will be damaged by the same force that breaks the rockers. Mine weren't, thankfully.
Thing I found most astonishing is it was still running... sorta. Lots of "Jeep noises" from the snorkel.
Bewdy thanks, I was just searching your posts to see if you did a thread on what you found.
I have a shopping list that includes TB and tensioner plus the top end bits as reference on a certain UK site and figure that those parts will be required.
Lucky for me I have a Pet Oil burner mechanic mate locally who is sick of fixing spud tractors and excavators so im just doing the initial look see.
I was chatting to him about the lag on acceleration and fiddling with the pump and showing him the EGT kit I got from QLD and the following day it broke in vengeance...........
Any suggestions on a local parts vendor? Im thinking Roverparts but the TDi is new to me.
