$6000 is a good price for a GOOD V8i. I have seen them for much less, but they are usually dogs.

Hi guys
I am new here just need to ask some questions
I am looking at a 1994 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY, V8i (4x4) WAGON, can you point me in the right direction as what to look for (eg. rust oil leak and price roughly)
The 4by is $6000.00 does that the sound about right
I know it will drink like a fish, but how do they go with a gas conversion and where do you put the gas tank.
I really wanted a 110 county I have wanted one for years but never had the money to do any thing about it, and now I have some spare i can’t seem to find any around the dealers; i was going to buy a jeep but all the ones I looked at had something wrong with them and I saw a 110 go past and really wanted one, but ill settle for a discovery
I am going to have a look at the car tomorrow, I remember seeing reading about someone who has a rover workshop out annangrove way but cant remember their name do they do inspections for people and do you know whom they are?
Any help you can give would be appreciated
Regards,

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Good 110 County-Isuzu sell from $6000 upwards dependant on k's, equipment, condition, and service history. Really good ones fetch $12000+. All sell pretty quickly unless they are absolute dogs. The V8's have to be pretty darn good to get $5000. They are rarely sold at dealers, too old for pretty much anybody but a bomb dealer or LR specialist. Try here or the on-line sites, (Carsales, e-bay, Carsguide), etc.

I bought a 95 V8i about 12 months ago and I love it but there are some things to look for
*Leaking windscreen (rust around the top behind the rubber)
*Leaking alpine windows (seem to rust on the drivers side)
*rust under the rubber insulation on the floors( pull the carpets up)
*dodgy speedo (sometimes it goes mental and stops working for 5 minutes)
*uneven idle (hangs on to revs too long or nearly stalls)
*digital clock (display fails and bulb inside blows)
*faulty rear tail lamps and indicators (prone to damage due to lack of protec)
*Usual oil leaks (they generally look worse than what they are)
*make sure its not too hard to get into Low
*Transmission changes and kicks down smoothly (if its an auto)
*Power windows (make sure they all work quickly)
*Cruise control (usually just the rubber hoses for the module perish)
*Saggy suspension (you will want to do at least a suspension lift anyway)
*Uncontrollable death wobbles when going over a certain bump (very likley to be caused by the swivel hubs)
Im sure there are others but I have found that most things have just been small niggling items and take next to nothing to repair if you follow the advice from the forums. Try and get the updated D1 with the smarter interior and 3.9.
I have a 95 disco. Thirsty bugger on petrol, comparatively cheap to run on gas.
Mine has the main tank replaced by twin gas tanks with an auxiliary tank for petrol in the right rear quarter panel.
If you don't love it you will hate it. There are so many niggly faults
If your heart desires a county, why settle for something else.
Be patient, keep looking and the love of your life will arrive.
Hi guys
Thank you to all that have taken the time to answer here.
I had a look at the discovery today, some one had it out on a test run and came screaming back into the dealers yard with steam and water pouring out of it .It did not look to good so I had a look what else was in the yard while they looked at it, I wondered back over to see what had gone wrong, there was this crap in the radiator, I don’t know how long she was cooking for, but I thought I think ill let this one go.
Ah well I just keep on looking
